Community Storyteller, Professional Communicator
Dear Reader,
I hope this portfolio finds you well!
My name is Mia Purse and I am a Professional Writing and Rhetoric Major at Elon University. Outside of my major, I work as a writing consultant at Elon University’s Writing Center helping students to better a variety of writing based projects from essays to multimedia texts. I also hold a leadership position with Elon University’s improvisation comedy group Please Clap! as Vice President helping to organize performances and run club board meetings. Outside of campus life, I work as a freelance Multimedia Editor for the marketing consulting group Embody Media and Design where I collaborate with field professionals to create marketing campaigns and put them into action.
The skills I have gained in my time at Elon University have been instrumental in preparing me for my on and off campus experiences. Beyond that, they have helped me shape my identity as a writer and rhetorician. Through my undergraduate experience, I have become an educator, storyteller and professional communicator.
